We have witnessed an increase in these amongst our clients. Some are positively comical, and some a bit more realistic, but there are always signs that it is a scam. Whilst HMRC does possess telephones and email accounts, they do tend to prefer written correspondence especially when they want to talk to you about the money you may owe them!
