SSP self-certification period temporarily extended

Employees will be able to self-certify for up to 28 days commencing 17 December 2021, and ending 26 January 2022, thanks to a change to the Statutory Sick Pay (SSP) Regulations.

This will apply to workers who we unable to work before 17 December 2021, but have not been off for more than seven days, or are off for anytime between the dates outlined above.

This is being implemented in order to expand GP capacity and maximise support for the coronavirus vaccine booster campaign.

**At the moment, this only applies to the United Kingdom.
