We are rooting for the owners of four Nottinghamshire-based enterprises which have made it through to the Grand Final of the exciting Newark Business Awards. It’s a nail-biting time as they countdown to the glittering celebration at Kelham Hall, Kelham, on Monday, December 7. Wright Vigar Directors Neil Roberts and James Sewell will also be there cheering them on. Good luck to our finalists: Nick Harrison of Newark Independent Caravan Services (Technology in Business category) Samantha Graham of Newark boutique Ladida (Customer Service category) Derry Ltd (Excellence in Business – Large category) The Ram, in Newark (Successful New Business) Mobile caravan engineer Nick Harrison, visits clients at home, on caravan sites or at the premises where they store their vehicles. He offers annual maintenance and essential repairs services. After jetting off to America this year and doing a specialist refrigeration repair course – run by Ford RV Refrigeration and Appliance Repair and claimed to be the only one of its kind on offer globally – Nick is well-placed to attract even more business. “If people go to a standard RV service centre, they tend to be told that they need to buy a new refrigerator. That might not be the case because it could be repaired,” said Nick, who recently started a second business, Tom Services. Nick’s customers encouraged him to enter the Newark Business Awards. Samantha Graham’s business Ladida, was nominated for the competition by her satisfied customers. The boutique, which specialises in evening, occasion and party wear, and sells accessories including shoes, handbags and jewellery, recently celebrated its first birthday. Samantha, who employs three part-timers, is delighted that Ladida is attracting returning customers. Being a finalist in the Awards offers her boutique further valuable exposure. Samantha also runs Brown’s School of Dance in South Muskham. Wright Vigar Director Neil Roberts said: “We work closely with the owners and directors of businesses of all sizes, across all sectors. It is both exciting and professionally satisfying to see so many of our clients in the Grand Final of the Newark Business Awards. We wish them all success”.
