As in previous years, Pete Harrison, Director at Wright Vigar, was delighted to be an integral member of the judging panel and he confirmed that it was a challenge to pick out the overall winners of each category as the standard of entries was once again top class! Business leaders from across the Lincolnshire area tucked in to a delicious 3 course meal and were enthralled by the guest speaker Jenny Dawson who in 2011 launched the food brand ‘Rubies in the Rubble’. ‘Rubies in the Rubble’ makes delicious relishes and fruit compotes from fruit and vegetables that would otherwise be discarded, due to failed aesthetic criteria or supply and demand imbalances. Having had organic growth selling a range of chutney to Fortnum & Masons, Selfridges, Harvey Nichols, Waitrose, Ocado and independent, ‘Rubies in the Rubble’ has grown to be an award-winning sustainable food brand with its ethos setting it apart. Melvyn Prior followed Jenny with the all important results from the judges – and Wright Vigar would like to congratulate the following award winners:- Best Customer Service Award 2016 – Jody Knight Outstanding Contribution to the Community 2016 – Scotter Ward Palliative Care Unit Best use of Innovation / Technology 2016 – A.M.P Rose Ltd Apprentice of the Year 2016 – Rachael Lukey from Andrew Jay & Co Business Person of the Year 2016 – Andrew Johnson of Lincs Electrical Wholesalers Limited Best New Business 2016 – DrumBEAT Marketing UK Ltd Small Business of the Year 2016 – Woldgrain Storage Ltd Business of the Year 2016 – A.M.P Rose Ltd Finally – congratulations to all the finalists – you are all winners!
