Wright Vigar, which also has offices in Gainsborough, Sleaford, Newark, Retford and London, prides itself on taking a proactive approach to providing clients, ranging from owners of small businesses to directors of multi-million pound companies, with individually tailored business advice and accountancy expertise. Paul and Matthew’s promotion highlights the possibilities for ambitious team members who are keen to progress their careers and play a strong role in the firm’s continued success. Both Paul and Matthew joined Wright Vigar as trainee accountants, and their progression is testament to their hard work and dedication alongside the firm’s culture of personal and professional development. In addition to advising businesses across a broad range of sectors, Paul and Matthew also specialise in helping clients in two important growth areas in Lincolnshire – the expanding not-for-profit and buoyant construction and property sectors. Paul, who lives in Newark, joined the company fourteen-and-a-half years ago. As well as working out of our Newland offices (Lincoln), he is regularly at the Newark office. “Becoming a director is an honour and a privilege, I am proud of the progress I’ve made and I’m looking forward to working further with existing clients to help them achieve their goals, whilst also creating new client relationships and supporting the growth aspirations of the firm,” said Paul. “Although I work with all types of businesses, I have a particular interest in the not-for-profit sector. Each have unique needs and it’s great to work with so many organisations who are making a difference in society. We provide specialist advice on items such as governance and operational matters alongside the statutory year end services,” he said. “At Wright Vigar we are currently working with many organisations, from registered charities, community interest companies to community amateur sports clubs, ensuring they are kept up to date with the latest regulations within the sector.” Our strong commitment to the not-for-profit sector is reflected throughout our organisation as we encourage every employee to devote three days a year to raising money for their favourite good cause. In his spare time Paul enjoys cricket (playing for Balderton Cricket Club), football, golf and travelling. Matthew Chadwick who joined Wright Vigar nearly 11 years ago, having studied at Nottingham Trent University, is equally delighted to have been offered a directorship. “Becoming a Director at Wright Vigar is a proud moment for me and my family and marks the fulfilment of a long-held ambition. Like Paul, I am eager to play my part in helping the firm to expand over the coming months and years,” he said. “I currently oversee the firms audit function which looks after many audit clients. Some of the largest companies I work with are based in the property and construction sectors. “These are particularly active in Lincoln and Lincolnshire, which continues to attract major investors and exciting new projects. I believe this area of our business will continue to grow. Matthew, who works predominantly in Lincoln and also his home town of Retford, is a familiar face in the business community. Outside of work, Matthew enjoys football and is a season ticket holder at Nottingham Forest, his other interests include golf, walking and cooking. Managing Director Chris Shelbourne said: “We welcome Paul and Matthew’s commitment to our aspirations for growth. Their appointments have strengthened our Board going forward and taken our team of directors to nine.” Recent PostsWright Vigar National Three Peaks ChallengeCharity BankingResidential Properties – Company or personal ownership?
