The new scheme will be available for employers from 1 November 2020 regardless of whether they have made use of the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme or not and will be in place until 30 April 2021. If you are offering the JSS Open to your employees it is important that you agree a new short term working arrangement with the affected employees, notifying them in writing. We have attached a template you can use when agreeing terms with your employees based upon our current understanding of the Scheme. A reminder that employers must have reached a written agreement with their employee (or reached written collective agreement with a trade union where the relevant terms are determined by collective agreement) that they have been offered a temporary working agreement that must cover at least seven consecutive days. Any change in the working pattern must be supported with a new written agreement. If you need any further support please contact the payroll team on 01522 531341 or at payroll@wrightvigar.co.uk.
