Antony had long-respected Wright Vigar, which is headquartered in Lincoln – but also has offices in Gainsborough, Sleaford, Newark, Retford and London – so he popped in for a chat. Now, he has fulfilled a long-held ambition to join the firm’s team, of more than 100 staff, as an Associate Director in its Sleaford office. Antony has brought with him a wealth of experience. He started his career as a trainee at the former PKF in Lincoln. Four years later, Antony moved to Manchester, to work for Baker Tilly (now RSM), then PWC, before returning to continue building his CV locally. “I’m delighted to have joined Wright Vigar. The firm has a very loyal client base and a real family ethos. It is well known for recognising its employee’s individuality and I love the way it allows everyone three days “off” each year to support a charity of their choice. It is good to learn that it has also started running wellbeing initiative for staff. “I’m passionate about working closely with clients, particularly owner-managed and family businesses, where you get the opportunity to understand a firm’s DNA and advise its key players,” said Antony. In today’s fast-paced and unpredictable business environment, there are plenty of calls for a tax specialist with wide-ranging experience and the ability to offer financial and general business advice tailored to a client’s immediate and long-term needs. “I really enjoy building-up relationships with clients and the opportunity to offer the appropriate advice, whether a business is planning for growth or its owner is considering retirement. “It is a real privilege to work with business owners going through big life changes such as exiting a business or helping them to plan for a tax efficient family or management team succession or helping them plan their estate. Antony has experience of working with businesses of all sizes and has dealt with sectors as diverse as the gas turbine industry field workers to large agricultural concerns. He and wife Amanda, who is Chattertons’ Head of Private Client Services, have two children – Isla (four) and Oscar (two) and a much-loved black Labrador, called Rosie. Antony also has a daughter Lucy (14) from a previous relationship. Away from the office, Antony keeps fit by going to the gym, running and playing squash – to create a good balance with his love of cooking tasty curries and Italian dishes, ideally washed-down with a glass of good wine or a cool real ale!
